It takes a long time to beat it the first time. You are mostly grinding for experience, which is where most of the fun is at.

It does take way longer the first time through, but not because of grinding. You shouldn't grind in this game at all unless you want to switch to a new weapon and need to pour upgrades into it.

The game takes really long because it involves a lot of pattern recognition and muscle memory, so it takes a lot of practice to get good at.

120 hours, first playthrought but it was SL 110 and did most of covenant discovery! and of course huge grinding seasons just for an easy (for dark souls that is) ending!

To beat this game quickly first time you'd need to use walkthroughs. Took me about 80 hours. A lot of that spent looking for where I was supposed to go and venturing down the wrong path.

Great game! Took me > 30 hours to go beyond the second area, because I was so afraid of the boss. :)

It spoiled the Hack'n Slash genre for me, because the fighting is so well done that I compare all other games to DS and they fall short. :)

This is my all time favourite game although the third part or the series is slowly starting to take my heart. The first game was amazing and honestly probably over 500 hours of my characters are straight PvP. My main character is SL 875 and I've decided to cap him here because it has been getting hard to find some other players high enough to do PvP with. Although I do have a second character who is a prime PvP level of 175. If you don't believe my play time feel free to contact me and I will share screenshots. Have fun everyone!
